About this place
The charcoal-grilled menu includes Ajimi chicken grilled with salt and sansho pepper, saikyo-yaki Spanish mackerel, and Japanese black beef sirloin and ichibo (rump cap). Choose chicken or fish for a lighter meal, or make beef the centrepiece. At Ichie, dinner can be built around a charcoal-grilled dish.
Sashimi is available as a one-person assorted platter, or diners can choose individual seafood dishes such as seared hamo (pike conger) from Hyogo, octopus, wild greater amberjack from Nagasaki and bluefin tuna from Kochi. Charcoal-grilled scallops or squid grilled with yuzu salt koji add variety to the seafood selection.
Small plates include Kujo leek and mushroom ohitashi, a dashi-seasoned rolled omelette, and Japanese black beef nikusui with tofu. They make it easy to add a few more dishes to the table. To finish, choose plum or mentaiko for dashi chazuke, rice in broth, or try rice topped with a rich-yolk egg from Kyoto. Beer, wine and other drinks are also available, making this a place to enjoy dinner in a quiet setting.
Diners who have visited have mentioned enjoying Japanese black beef steak, sea bream and seared stingray fin. Dinner reservations are recommended, so consider booking if you decide to go.
